max number of guests

It will in 3.3 be possible to have invited - or not. When guests are allowed, You can set no max for this. Let us say You have an event where there is a max of 15 participants.
You have a participant ( Klaus ) that participates and he set 1 guest. That was the last thing Klaus did before he took on a 2 week vacation in Thailand - but what he did is that he put 11 guests on his participation, instead as the 1 he thought he did.
Now the leader for the event sees that there is already 13 participants ( Klaus, his guests and the leader himself ) for the event, that has a max of 15.
The leader cannot edit the line for Klaus. He then contacts the admin to get him correct the number - admin says that he also cannot correct the number, unless he tampers in the database, and he does not know if this will function as there is a counter and so.
Could it not be so, that instead of a checkbox for allowing guests, then it was a numeric field that could hold a value ( default should be 0 ) ?
Then when the field is 0, and a user participates and sees the popup ( if comment is allowed ) then no field for guests are shown. If the allowed number is 2, then the field is shown and values between 0 and 2 ( inclusive ) is allowed as input.
Kind regards
John
