SMTP not working for me

Hello,

I have set the e-mail delivery to SMTP but it gives me an error when try to set a weblink or try to register a new user.

At preferences / email delivery I entered:
Send via
SMTP

Sender mail address
ouraddress@ourdomain.org

Name of sender
Administrator

Multiple recipients
Sender

Number of BCC recipients
50

Character encoding
UTF-8

SMTP Host
mail.ourdomain.org

SMTP authentication
Yes

SMTP port
587

SMTP encryption
No

SMTP authentication type
Automatically

SMTP username
ouraddress@ourdomain.org

SMTP password
ourpassword
When I try to register a new user or enter a new weblink, the program says:
The email could not be sent to ouraddress@ourdomain.org.

The following error occurred:
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
* Of course that instead of ourdomain, ouraddress and ourpassword were entered correctly the real ones.

Our SMTP server is working fine, nothing wrong with it, all mails are sent when we use our accounts.

Please advise what I am doing wrong at Admidio.

Hi Linda,

you can temporary activate the debug mode . After that you should get a detailled output when sending email via SMTP. Maybe that will help.

Later you should deactivate the debug mode.
