The eventowner should have the possibility to mail the eventinformation to all participants. In the mail should also be a line with the participant information.
This way the user can see if he is participating or on a waiting list and if his participation is accepted.
The eventowner could send this mail when the event is locked, and he ´has "edited" the participations,
or he could send it a few days before so users can see that someone has to pay or he will not be accepted - others wil see that his participation is ok,
Or he could have a text added to the event ******* IMPORTANT ***** this event is cancelled.

Sorry - this post is not relevant.
I had "deactivated" the mail option and did not see this option as event-owner.
It seems that it is just ( or nearly ) what I was writing about, although I would have liked the possibility to check/uncheck participants on the list.
I am testing this feature now, but it seems I can not have it to function - but I will try with some more testing.
