New to Admidio, and loving it!
I would like to use the Written Communications plugin, as it would suit our needs perfectly. I believe I have followed the directions as best that I can, but here is where I need help:
I created a template 'letter', and can access it successfully. I then fill out the required details into the letter, but when I press 'Download Document'' nothing happens. Like... nothing. I don't see any activity on the browser's 'busy' indicator (using Chrome). Also, I use LibreOffice for word processing.
My question is; what is supposed to happen at this point? Is the plugin supposed to automatically email the selected list, or just open the default word processor for off-line post processing? I just a hint to determine where I went wrong. Thanks.
Written Communications setup help, please
Re: Written Communications setup help, please
Additional observations...
The symptoms above (Download Document doesn't do anything) was when I was logged in as Administartor, attempting to send a letter to a Member. Nothing happened.
However, when I logged in as another regular Member and tried to send a letter to the Administrator, i noticed that when the mouse hovered over the Download Document button, I could see that the info link at the bottom of the browser was referencing 'written_communications_functions.php'. After pressing the button, the browser 'busy' indicator became active, but after a few seconds I received an "error 500" message back from the server.
Any ideas?

Re: Written Communications setup help, please
I have made further progress... I'm almost there!
I gave full permission to the written communications plug-in directory, and now I can create a letter FROM a member TO the Administrator. When I click on Download Document, the letter is sent to my PC's LibreOffice for further editing and/or printing. So that part works 100%.
But what is still strange, is when I have a separate browser logged in as the Administrator, after filling out the required fields in the template letter, nothing happens when pushing the Download Document button.
I'm confused as to why the Administrator cannot generate letters to members, but a member can. I tried using both Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome. Same result.

Re: Written Communications setup help, please
I continued to make progress...
I discovered that the Administrator CAN create and send a letter to a member, but that member MUST already be in the database.
If I tried to send a letter to "an individual" with a name and address NOT in the database, then nothing happens when I press Download Document. If I try to send to a name it recognizes, then YES, the letter is downloaded.
So, perhaps Written Communications is working as designed. But it would also be desirable to generate a letter to someone not in the database, like an advertiser, or to another club, using our club letterhead. Or, perhaps I'm not using the plug-in correctly?
Thanks for the great program, despite this minor shortcoming!!
